You are right. I was on the call, and they only blathered about some Job ADS that specify "H1 Only" or something. THey have an rss feed going on the left side of the brightfuturejobs site, and they want the Antis to post en masse about how these jobs violate their rights.
The push is to get the Durbin bill passed. And they want to use these posts as "historical evidence" or some crap like that.

Labour Sub the way it is used is legal but not necessarily moral. However the USCIS has always looked at this ONLY from the EMPLOYERS eyes and therefore don't see much wrong in it. I am sure this is one thing we would agree with the programmers guild on.
The really scary thing is "Vintage wine" is really precious and very much in demand. However if it were available in huge quantities, it would be had as often as you want. Problem for us is that with BECs moving applications very fast, there will be sure to be many more of these floating around and freely available. As long as they allow this, the pace of movement of PDs will be anemic at best.
One argument to be made which might get more traction is that this practice is unfair to the newer companies as compared to more established ones.
The stench of this system is at times unbearable. I have always said, it selects its criteria and positively discriminates on such things such as place of birth, yet places little value on the importance of a particular skill set (after all it is EB immgration we are talking about). In many ways it is its simplicity as a system in a much more complex and manipulative world that causes these problems. Whether this is by design or not is another discussion. Either way it stinks!

I dont know about other members but it is hard for me to blv that IIT's and IIM's will come to US for a masters degree coz they could not find a job in India or they could not get an admit in a master's program.
If that was the case people would have stopped going got IIT's/IIM's. Why will someone work so hard to get to the top most program - to not get a job and then pursue MS from US OF A????
I think the IIT's/IIM's come here they MOSTLY (not all) come here for a purpose....research/money/better life/whatevet.....
Any IITians or IIM's who are member care to throw some light. I personally know 2 IIT's and 1 IIM who are in US for good and would check with them.....

Its good that you are thinking of ideas but I do not think you know about the reason why we are all here on IV. Here is why.
#1 You need o spend time on IV and learn about it rather than just coming , opening a new ID and posting a big idea.
#2 You have not seeing Lobbying in Action. Go see yesterday's 60 minutes and how IRA controls US politics via lobbying
#3 If charity was the way to get things done, Bill Gates would have been the first to get unlimited H1B visas every year for Microsoft.
#4 You need to establish your credibility on the forum by contributing so that people take you seriously.
#5 If you really want to raise $5 million and donate to America it will do nothing. How about raising 5 Million and donating in Africa and feed kids dying of hunger. It is better than investing in education of US kids who are anyways pampered and spoiled by free school education, free transport and free meals.
#6 Maybe you should do a lottery of $5 million once collected and ask all Americans if they want to win it. You will get more media attention if that is your purpose.
Now coming to the point of raising 5 million. Forget it man. Desis and Chinese are very frugal. Unless they are in deep immigration problem they will not even give you $5.
Now tell me how you are going to get email addresses. That is really a big plan. I think you should get those email addresses and give it to IV. But how will you do it? There is no such list buddy.

They never felt the need of country cap. I just got back from a lengthy fight with my local and state DMV offices to convince them I'm legal to continue having a drivers license. I'm EB, in the adjustment of status stage since July 2007. DMV asked me recently for proof for status check. I took the pending I-485 receipt and while they told me it is an acceptable proof, they said they have a rule that if the document has no expiration date, they can only give you a driver license with validity 6 months beyond the receipt date of your document (with the wild assumption that any I-485 application is approved or denied within 6 months)
I have nothing against local government and their agencies enforcing immigration, but if you won't give your staff the necessary training to comprehend what legal immigration status is then it will be a disaster

You gave me EAD, you gave me AP, you gave me receipts......why did you put me back at the mercy of NSC again? WHYYY? you knew they suck!!!
No FP yet for me or my wife. Been calling CIS.....feels like talking to a wall.
I guess we CSC transferees are DOOMED!!!
There shall be light at the end of the tunnel....or it could just be an incoming train :-)

YOu can surrender your GC letting know the USCICS that, it got approved when the PD was not current. I had read this on murthy.com. Browse the website to learn more about it or contact murthy.com attorney's.
How am I so sure...?? Even I am one amoung them praying for 485 not getting approved untill I get married. My PD is 2006, so I guess I don't have to worry too much.

i had a GC of a priority date 01-13-2003. Then my employer was kind enough to do one more simultaneous application with a date of 11-15-2004.
The attorney we were working with at that time exchanged the I140 between apps and he screwed up big time on my 2003. So we had to withdraw both my I140 approved 2003 application and the 11-15-2004.
Then we had to go back and apply for Perm and start the process again. I spent 5K and my employer about another 5K on 3 apps so far.
if it is fate on one side it was USCIS on the other, but god was on my side, and hence i am still in this country!!!!

For AP renewal, do I need to send photos by mail again? I thought USCIS uses the picture on file. Folks please correct me if I am wrong. Could some one PM me the letter format?
