If you e-file EAD renewal, you will get FP notice. To avoid it, paper-file your renewal.

Since his i140 is approved he should be eligible for H1B 3 yrs extension. I think it does not matter even if has changed employer.

I used AP thrice and renewed my H1 twice after entering using AP without any issues.

Now I have a question?
My H1 is valid till May 2010 but not stamped. I have AP with me. If I go to India and come back on AP, I will still be on H1 and can even extend beyond 2010. If this is valid, then I think I do not have to get my visa stamped. That will be cool.

Can someone here on this forum list down all the documents that are required to file 140 and 485. Or if this has been discussed in a thread can you please point me to the right forum?
Are you sure you want to do it on your own? If it was that easy, everybody would do it. Considering all the potential pitfalls, it just puzzles me why somebody would go for such a process on their own.
What are you trying to achieve? Save some bucks or show that you are smarter than other people? Even to save a lot of bucks, I don't see how I would do it without a reputed attorney.
Yes they are expensive, but there is a good reason for it: you are buying their expertise. Don't you think that it is worth it?

We are also in the same boat. My wife and me finished FP on 10/2. Its already been 9days. No LUD on my case or my wife's case.

This is where our problem lies. People once they are greened completely forget the troubles and "never ever" look back. Many of us (either directly or as dependents) have been greened and have reached very high positions but never feel the need to help out. I am wondering whether it is because we have failed to ask their help??
Instead on focussing on senators and congressmen/women (which IV members are already doing) would it be worthwile to prepare a list of influential (political, business, scientists) immigrants (particularly chinese and Indians) and then getting their help/input to our cause??
First people who do not have greencard should support.
Right now we do not even have 1% of those people part of IV

The way I see it....You have an I797 approval till 2010. Once you have that, it does not matter on what basis it was received. The I797 approval does not say "Only valid until I140 has not been withdrawn" etc.

Wish I could go but I am in California. I hope DC members respond to this. Is it too late to suggest that IV Core members use some of the funds to go to this event. It will be worth it. We could start contributing to this right away. Just a thought.

I got an approval in March 2007 and status still says 'the notice that USCIS sent was returned as undeliverable". As I guess approval notice was sent to my employer's old address and so returned. My employer got address changed and sent request to Nebraska Service Centere to resent the documents, but documents not received yet. Still waiting.

same situation here, never received the EAD and the IO asks us to re apply with the new filing fee of 340$ even for the replacment EAD.

My son is in custody and I am bonding him out this week;
ICE charged him deportable as a Aggrevated Felon becuase ;
He had a PETTY LARCENY in 2009 (misdemeanor) - orginal sentance to 60 days weekend intermittent jail and 3 years probation;
He violated probation and was given a year of weekends by the judge;
Now ICE are charging him as a AF saying he is deportable because his record shows 365 sentance for the petty larceny!!!
I an others disagree and that 'a year of weekends' is NOT a sentance of a year or a suspended year;
Any case files or history anyone - your answers are welcomed!
