I'm also a Conon user, and not so "big" a macro photographer as Gary( Sorry for the pun, ;) ), but I use the Canon 100mm macro, and I'm with you on wanting a longer macro. You have to get awfully close for good shots, and I think a little more length would work better for me.
Also, on the autofocus that Gary mentioned, I like the faster autofocus on the Canon over the Sigma, not for macro, but simply because I can use it as a "normal" 100mm f/2.8, which saves me from having to carry another 100mm lens.

I have not had a very good experience mailing documents to CGI. I would advise against it based on the time crunch we are facing here....
If you go in person and get it done..that would be most optimal..and worry free.

I sent it using United States Postal Service (usps). I did use full zip code (75185-2401). I also used usps return receipt, which means somebody from USCIS has to sign this form.
Return receipt is problem for PO Boxes. This is unattended. Not sure who signs it. Generally they put a paper in Mail Box., and based on that someone will be picking from Post Office.
This is the reason for it - so it will be delivered.
I just use delivery confirmation for P.O. Boxes.

I have received an EAD (I-140 Approved) for future employment through a company that I never worked for. Can I use AC21 to port the GC process to the current employer? Does the current employer need to file a new LC/140?
Please let me know. Thanks for your help.

They'll deny the 485

I think best option will be to use Consular Processing for your EB2 petition. You will have your GC very soon if PD remains current (which is very likely in your case).

Maybe talking to several lawyers will help you in best manner. I had a similar scenario. Although I had the original labor. (not substituted)
I paid a few laywers their time, and went to talk with them.
They suggested an appeal with explanation, and proper supporting documents.
Talk with your lawyer. Your company must show the ability to pay, through all the tax returns, and incomes and all that jazz...

I found an article that explains the 180 day rule a little better. I believe it is called section 245(k). You should definitely get advice through an experienced attorney to make sure.

I don't think that with the EAD renewal receipt you can continue working. Right now, the EAD is valid for 1 year from the day the process and print your card and you cannot specify the employment dates(or they are ignored anyway). It works differently than an H-1B extension where you can specify the dates and even when they process you application say in April and you asked for it to start in march, the approval notice will have the starting period in March. For EAD, if they processed it in April, the starting date is in April.

We are legal immigrants. Even if you are illegal, you shouldnt be afraid to speak up. If legal hi-skills educated immigrants shy away from exercising constitutional rights of speaking up, then what can we say?
I would be happy to speak up but just an FYI, we donot have any constitutional rights. We are second class citizens at the best, and slaves in a different form at worst.And that is not ranting of someone who has been in line for half a decade. Here's the proof.
I love skeet shooting but the law prevents me (or anyone who is on a "nonimmigrant" visa) from buying a gun. Thats second amendment rights that were awarded to everyone living in the USA.

Eb3Retro, Did you sign G-28 initially for your (previous employer's) attorney to represent? if so how did you change the representation?
i have not changed attorney so far, just wanted to retain the same guy until i extend my EAD this time, (which is pending and awaiting results anytime soon) , once this is done, i am going to file G28 and self file AP myself. My attorney charges exorbitant fees for doing this, just for the safety sake, just for ead extn i used him...few more days and i will say thanks for all his services..

The way I see it....You have an I797 approval till 2010. Once you have that, it does not matter on what basis it was received. The I797 approval does not say "Only valid until I140 has not been withdrawn" etc.
