I had my interview on the 30th and my passport has not been delivered yet. The VFS website says that the passport has not been handed over to them as of today. I was not given any 221g slip/form and the VO told me that i should be getting my PP in 5 days, it's been a week now and VFS hasn't got the PP yet. Is there something i should be worried about? I have my return ticket booked for next weekend and i am getting a bit nervous about the whole scenario. Does anyone know if there is any other way to get in touch with the New Delhi consulate?

We were exactly in the same situation few months ago. We were told that our visas have been issued and we will get our passports within 5-7 days (no 221g at the time of the interview). After 5 days when we contacted VFS they said wait upto 7 business days. I waited and then they gave me the number of the embassy. When we contacted embassy they said that an email has been sent to me asking more documents but we did not get any emails. We asked them to resend and after 3 days of our request we got their email with a soft copy of 221g(green).
We wish that similar thing may not happen with anyone as we know the tension of going thru it.
I would suggest that you call Embassy instead of calling VFS to get the real status. VFS will just tell if they got the passport or not. They can not tell you the reason.

Please dont mind , when you ask / post a question please provide a brief describtion about ur situation which will enable all the readers and gurus to provide you an accurate answers. Say for example : PD, date filed and other details that you can see on many of signatures. Insdead of asking 10 questions to you , you might get the answer straight away...
Not just you , but many of the users who are new to this form , please first explain your situation with details and then ask the actual question.

I got an SR response back saying that my application is "waiting to be assigned to an officer"...whatever that means...isnt every application so? I think SRs are just as useless as any other 'customer service' provided by USCIS...

Not a word said about this I485 fiasco on the two mostly watched networks (CNN, ABC). Why can't we try to get their attention in this matter. Please suggest ways of getting this published in the above networks.

I thought once your EAD gets approved then you H1 Visa is not longer valid.
You could keep EAD and H1 together active?? Any experts, could you please throw some light?

Also, bnaredla1382 mentioned that he/she has H-1B and is currently working on H1-B, is that a requirement? I do not have H1-B any longer and have been working on EAD since.

My PD is nov 2003 and now I am planing to port my EB3 to EB2.
I need to know the process to do it.
My previous EB3 is with my old employer.
My I-140 approved from my old Employer and applied I-485 in july 2007 and
later in may 2008 I moved to my current company using AC21 and I applied for H1b also.
now I working 6th year on H1B.
And Here are the questions, if I file new labor have:
1). how long will it take to approve?
and once labor approved, for I-140
1). Am I eligible for premium process of I-140.

I had applied for AOS,EAD and AP for me and my wife on July 2nd.
I got my EAD, Finger Printing Notification, but my wife's application got returned on Aug 30th. I called USCIS after 3 months to find out status on her case and they said it was returned on Aug 30th which we haven't received so far. The reason for rejection was incorrect or missing check.:(
So, can please any one tell me if i can re-apply her case even though i did not get her application back?
Any information on this will be greatly appreciated.

FYI, you can open a FORMAL Investigation with USCIS if the mailing of rejection notice exceeds more than 30 days. Call USCIS and see what they have to say.

Has anybody received this?.. What is the possible Evidence that they may be looking for?. Who receives such notice (Me or My lawyer)... Normally what response time would be given?... Please advise...

This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.
My friend got similar RFE for his wife and daughter. That was for a copy I 140
and marriage certificate.
What happened was he applied to NSC, got transfered to CSC got receipts for the all the applications. Then the 485 was transfered to TSC. The Copy of marriage certificate and birth certifiate for his daughter went with that went with that. When they were processing 765 and 131 they could not find them, so they asked for for more evidence.
