Wow, I've got three votes now... :)
Love the castle, and the background work for it.. Kinda looks like one of those Aztec Mayan thingers you see in the mountains or whatever Thank you very much... It's actually a castle from here in England, near Gloucester. Used to go up around there on holiday when I was a kid, and I had some old holiday snaps.
There's lots of ruined castles round here (there's one 15 minutes from where I live in fact, called Rochester Castle) so I wanted to draw one of those, do something a bit different.
But Soul and Eilsoe are in a whole new league with their pixel art. :)

I understand, your 485 is already in pipeline so you already have those band aids but claiming to be sorry portrayed you very selfish. Preponing visa interview without very valid reason cud be harmful. u never know, if they catch ur wife telling a lie then ull be walking on thin ice.
I disagree with this statement. Your most compelling argument of preponing your visa interview is that they have opened slots which were not earlier available and you would like to finish this process and keep some time incase some additional documentation was required, you would have the time to get it. Also, there is NO RULE that says you cannot prepone appointment.
Also, I suggested you get a fresh appointment at Mumbai (your original appointment was in Chennai - correct?)

+1 for CGNY. We had gone for our daughters PIO card and had her with us - the consulate folks were extremely helpful and helped us through the process quickly so that our daughter wouldn't go through any discomfort in spite of a huge rush. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes of reaching the consulate (kudos to the security screener especially who spotted us waiting in line and led us right in to the counter).
Everyone was also very friendly and professional. I do agree with the phone calls responsiveness - we had a hard time reaching someone on the phone for our queries.

Just to put your mind at ease, i have several friends(not friend-of-a-friend) who had quit at various intervals (1-2-3 months) after getting their GC's and haven't faced a single issue while in process of becoming a citizen.
In short its better to be safe than sorry so these attorneys suggest staying for atleast 180 days.
If that is the case, then why is it that all immigration attorneys are asking us to stay with our current employers citing this "Intent" thing? Are you saying that it's all smoke and no fire?

It is correct that a MBA will prepare one for mutiple fields, however the question being asked is specific for IT professionals who are trying to jump into management.
I believe the confusion is there between MBA and PMP, because some of the folks are at a juncture where they want to make a quick buck and are also thinking of career advancement.
Yes for a quick buck you can get a PMP and move up the ladder, but for long term sustainance you need MBA for senior management posts.

Unless there is a change in immigration laws it will be very true that you cannot apply for 485 in the next 5 years. To make something happen it is very important to attend DC Rally.

Well, what is the point in saying it now, he should have said it in the 90s and early 2000 when industry was booming and people found a career path in coming to the US.
Right now, so much work is outsourced and it is continuing. Very difficult to get a IT job in US on h1b and IT consulting on h1b also facing so many hurdles. For any new immigrant on a software job who wants to get a h1b visa and green card - it is not an easy task.

I was born and lived in Canada for 35 yars - I know what I am talking about.
First of all - people on umemployment insurance in Canada are counted in the unemployment rate - where ever you got your information from is wrong.
Second - yes there is racism, I am very sad to say, but I can assure you, that "for the most part", it pales in comparison to any spot in the USA.
Third - Health Care is not "Free" - you pay higher taxes there, and the government puts it back into the people (vs military in USA). You will not go bankrupt and loose your house if you (or your kids) get sick.
Fourth - You can live a great comfortable life in Canada. As someone else said, it ranks between 1 & 3 usually every year when the US rates countries based on healthcare, education, standard of living, ...
Fifth - My brother in law is a Neurologist from Mexico (married my sister), yes he worked for less than Canadian Dr.'s pay rate - BUT, his qualifications where not up to Canadian standards. He worked hard for many years to pass Canadian standard tests. Unfortunaely (or fortunately), OVERALL, Canadian standards are much higher than anything in the USA. We do not have half baked "colleges" where people who can not find their way out of a paper bag graduate from. You must pass these standards/tests/etc...
Sixth - the overall education level in Canada is much higher than in the USA. We do not have the "ghettos" as in the USA. High school graduation is the norm, not the exception.

OK - why am I going through US immigration if I love my home - W E A T H E R. I hate the cold - I now live in the LA area. Conclusion - Canada is a beautiful country. I would encourage all highly educated, good people from anywhere in the world to move there.

Anyways, if you want to immigrate to a country, you want to go where there is low unemployment. That is the biggest criteria for choice. USA's system HAS HUGE FLAWS. The employer petition-system creates a breeding ground for exploitation and the numerical cap is too low that results in delays that are unbearable. And yes, the DOL has come really close to making people commit suicide because of labor backlogs. But then, only the employer petition system can actually give greencards to THOSE WHO CAN SURVIVE and get jobs in the economy and not give greencards just because they scored points.

If you are a software engineer and street smart then you don�t need PMP to continue growing in your field. I am a software engineer and my understanding is as follows. Currently most of us are working under a manager who is either not good at management or not having the required level of technical skills to understand the project complexities for doing proper project management. As the salaries in the software field are good most of the people moved to software field irrespective of what their core skills are. So, people who are good at project management and working as software engineers should do PMP to rejuvenate their skills and bring some good project managers to the software industry.
Even if you are not good at project management, you should do PMP to understand the environment you are working. That is especially to keep yourself in the shoes of your manager. The advantage of doing that is, if your manager is blaming you for his mistakes, you will know what to talk with your manager and avoid yourself burning out because of your manager mistakes. This is something that is very common in the software industry. It doesn�t matter where you are and what you are doing, it is always helpful to know role of a project manager to keep yourself in a better position.
Also PMP is not just $500 thing. I can say you should be ready to spend at least $700 and allocate lot of time (It takes lot of time if you are parallel working) to understand PMBOK and its related material.
Also to keep your certification active, you should get 60 PDU every 3years, but this is not a big deal.
To keep yourself motivated till you get the certification, keep this in mind. �Most of the best paid people are the best managers� you cannot make that kind of money unless you start you journey towards that direction.
