What happens in case of people who obtain GC through marriage and then due to some reason have to divorse? Do they have to stay married for a certain period of time?? :D:D If so how much would that be?

Ok, I've seen a lot of threads about go to the rally, actions items, I've reading a lot of guys saying dont ask for your receipt status, dont waste your time etc, etc.
Yes we did the rally we were great with all those signs, and appearing in the Indy TV but...
Question remains open:
1. When are they going to increase the GC quota?
2. When congress id going to do something?
I've the feeling that that's it we made our point but we are still with no GC, waiting receipts..............

Hello All,
I suggested this in my last two posts and I am suggesting this again. Emails , faxes to Rep will not create visibility of the problem. What we need to do is, do something big, like a DC rally again. One of the benefits behind doing this will be, everyone in this country i has their eyes on DC for presidential elections. Hence more visibility for us.
Secondly the topic of these three bills is hot, if we don't do anything now, it will turn cold, and then will be forgotten.
What we really need is a huge volume of high skilled workers in DC, not just a handful. Please let us all get together in DC again and push for these bills. We will get a lot of visibility. How about sending flowers to congress members?
Please let us all act on it!!

No matter how bad an employer is, one should inform before quiting...atleast one day in advance!
Bring IRS in to picture, let them deal these kind of cases...U should be OK in getting W2

He sent me an email to pay $3500, do you think he will go legal for this, I did not sign any contract with him.

From Your Petitioner:

We have been living in a county which has implemented 287g for some time. And I believe all legal residents in my county feel safer because of its implementation. Sure, there is a chance that 287g can be misused by the police. But tell me one law which can not be misused by police.
The thing is that more counties are signing on to 287g. St. Mary's County Joins Controversial Federal Immigration Initiative - Southern Maryland Headline News (http://somd.com/news/headlines/2010/11667.shtml).
I went thru the proposal in Arizona and could not find even one point which might be bad for us. Did any of you find something? Format Document (http://www.azleg.gov/FormatDocument.asp?inDoc=/legtext/49leg/2r/summary/h.sb1070_04-13-10_houseengrossed.doc.htm). I feel, IV should support such laws. We want the citizens and law abiding people in this country to support us; not the illegals.

This bill will only lead to profiling!!!!!!!!!!! and never in the world's history has profiling been good. Come out of your "slave" mentality.......... Today these laws are targeting illegal immigrants. Tomorrow what are the chances that they will do the same for legal immigrants? Or are you hoping that you will be a GC/citizen by the time such laws are proposed and implemented and there fore do not have to worry........
Read some articles that are out there against this bill - you will understand that it takes away resources to fight crime.........wonder if you will feel so safe then or do you live in a gated community?

This is true and the only one working actively working for our cause. If this organization is not succeeding to its full potential, its only because high skilled immigrants did not support it to the extent they could. Everyone wants to know what IV acheived - with $175???

I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs. We don't have any such resource. So I don't think IV not getting enough donations can be blamed on IV users.
I have donated as much as I can without getting my budget in jeopardy with all the mortgage , taxes, "health insurance " .medicare, car payments etc etc that we have to deal with.
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants considering the mood of the people in the Congress . No one would like to hurt their political career with voting for us in the Congress. The politicians do only lip service whether for illegal or legal immigrant bills. They have zero interest in seeing them passed in the Congress.

dint had much time to go thro' your responses. but if senior ppl are targetting this fellow( mercies) for this thread, then i beg to differ. because as a member of IV, i have been answering "hadron" posts too at immigration portal.
I think all Mercies is trying to do is help IV out, by preparing answers of such questions which stupid ppl ask, so they can be put to a stop right away. Probably he's drawing your attention to some q's that all of you have answers for, just guide mercies to that post,
but i think all of your remarks have been directed towards merices only as if he's started it all.

Exactly! I go by a different user name at Immigration Portal, and tried my best to counter hadron's posts. I only created this thread after I saw that no people in the know were countering this guy. I am a foot soldier, not an officer.
The post from rags4u is exactly what we needed. He and another IV guy is engaged in getting things under control, as I wanted.
I wonder if this person who did all this posting without reading what is posted on the site and wasted the valuable time of IV volunteers from an anti immigration group? Please do not get distracteed guys and all those people sitting ont he edge, join in and act!!
As for all of you guys who raise the scare of anti-immigrationists at the drop of the hat - go thru all of my posts, and you will find I cannot be from numbersusa. You can also check with IV's officers and they can get my name/address from my contribution check already deposited in IV's account!
Please try to counter propaganda wherever you can - that's how we will get more people to join! Efforts like mine do not waste time - they serve a purpose!

Hi, our first set of APs are expired and we never renewed since we did not plan to go out of the US. Now we need to apply for new AP, is it possible to apply online or since w eMUSt apply by mail since we don't have a valid AP at present.

I called the customer service # on 11/04 and the guy told me that he is sending email reguest for my FP and I got FP notice (my attorney's office also got one) on 11/13. Hope this helps.

You may be able lodge a complaint at your district attorneys office. you have to find your local DA's details. If you are from one of the coasts the chances of your DA's office having a section for immigration related complaints is high.

you are assuming he has applied for 485. If he has not, (ie. started labor in 2004) then until atleast July he would be in the same boat. If his LC is still in BEC (remember 30K are still stuck there); then all of this applies to him even after July VB fiasco!

Man, I-485 for Texas went back more than a month. It's so bad, they might as well not have published it, one would have slept better at night.
How do they come up with these dates? Weren't they supposed to process I-485 applications in the order they received them?
And how come the California Service Center has been doing so well this past few months, while all the other centers have been stationary or going back. CSC is at January 2007 now, fer cryin' out loud!
