Right now, so much work is outsourced and it is continuing. Very difficult to get a IT job in US on h1b and IT consulting on h1b also facing so many hurdles. For any new immigrant on a software job who wants to get a h1b visa and green card - it is not an easy task.
Yes its pretty much difficult for an Indian to arrive here and find a job. Forget about settling, many EB3s have already crossed 5-10 year mark. EB2 at least 5.
I guess he left out the point about locals moving to non-IT related fields in which the salaries are very slowly catching up to IT. These need to grow now with govt, private sector support, now that the glamour of US GC is almost non-existent for new IT graduates and almost pays back like the typical 20 year LIC policy of the 1990s I had. India has always been good in other industries like Textile, steel, cars, etc, and need to get some to world class levels.
I was going to say infrastructure is improving and things would get very good in India in 5-10 years (?) that US IT folks would seriously not find a difference in lifestyle.
But then I saw one of the recent movie hits, and saw the most stuff seemed to be incredulous, unbelievable - good songs though. I change my mind most times when I read some local news or see an occasional movie.
Is there a fundamental change in thinking needed in some areas among a vast majority? something to do with realism, acheiving quality in everything.
Corruption doesn't seem to be the only problem.
Money may not always be the primary reason for people to relocate to India. It will be an oppurtunity to experience the best quality of work, education and learning, the same reason many of us come here.

It does not matter who will get credit for this. It would not happen without people taking action - IV members or those who took the USCIS to court (BTW, 90% of those did it without attorneys). Nothing happens if you do not do anything!

Why, spending 7 years if its going to be to get a GC can create a Generation gap, can create dents in relationships, your loved ones sacrificing for you giving up their careers, in this mordern day and age, just to fulfill your american dream sounds very selfish. To live with it every day makes it harder. The only thing to not send me back is, what if someday I have to start over all this again if it makes me regret someday, I should just waited a little more to get though this process:)

Instead you can have your negotiations with your Doctor and Hospital.
In Dallas (Las Collinas), if you dont have medical insurance, you can have an arrangement with the Doctor and Hospital.
Like one of my friend paid 3K for everything for Delivery + 5K I think for the hospitals. Ofcourse this is based on the delivery is not complicated / C-section couple of years ago.

As you say that the illegal immigrant lobby gets hundreds of thousands of dollars per month. Do you think any illegal immigrant is contributing this money. They work for minimum wages and have hardly any money to spare.
I think most of the money comes from businesses that employ these people to cut costs.
Yes true, the hispanic groups is also about 50 million in size. I'm sure these businesses are breaking some law in funding, besides employment.
There are large organizations that support our cause too, especially IT. They played a big part in positive H1 reform. Not sure if they were approached or they work independently.
It looks like were averaging $0.05 per IV member though.
I find it hard to believe we don't have 2000 H-1s willing to contribute $25 a month
do people expect 40-50 persons to fund IV for campaigns that can benefit 45,000 members, as they watch from the sidelines?
Another point I think is that even if IV had a couple of million dollars I don't think it will be able to pursuade the Congress to pass any legislation to bring relief to legal immigrants .
I will defer that to core group & Donor Forum, but IV has acheived a lot of things as posted earlier, part of it through active lobby groups and political experts.

I hope your situation straightens out soon. I personally would go the info pass way with all documents and try to persuade them to reinstate the case.
Please report this lawyer to the bar association. Although I am not a big fan of litigation, this guy really deserves to be punished so he is more careful with the other cases he has. He probably has no idea what stress his silly mistake has caused you. I bet this asshole hasnt even acknowledged his mistake or expressed regret.

Sometimes in your life you make bad decisions. It happened unfortunately, because my PD is June 2004 EB2 and when dates became current last year, I thought it needs to move just 3 months to have my date current and as per DOS release there were only 3400 visas in EB2 for 2004.
Unluckily I chose for CP instead of 485 and now lying in a dark well.
Anyway please don't sympathize, I'll certainly come out of this situation very soon.

been 90+ days no news on AP. called USCIS for delay and now I get an email about RFE on me and my wifes AP.
any ideas, what type of RFE's being issued for APs?
