Getting the application doesn't let you play. The game is online, and you have to log into SC II with a battle.net account that has a StarCraft 2 Beta Key registered with it.

This would support why Apple TV never made it in the top navigation bar on Apple.com like the other iOS devices. They'll also license AirPlay video for all receiver manufactures. Then DVD player will disappear and manufactures will sell a box like APple TV that also serves up solutions from other software companies. Changing the source will be like changing the channel - see what Apple has on, see what Google has on, see what Netflix is playing, see what's on Red Box and so on. Thoughts?

There is no application for iPhone in the Japanese trademark database.
Apple failed to use the name "Airport" in japan, so they changed to "Airmac" at last. Even if somebody took the name already, its nothing to affect the product release but only to change the name and launch.

For starters, what if I went to a public library or Internet cafe and downloaded updates or a torrent? What if I stumbled onto someone's unsecured wireless router and borrowed their connection to do it? The ISP knows they handed out an IP to a given subscriber at a certain time, but they *can't* prove WHO downloaded specific files based on that.
Heck, just recently, I fixed some wi-fi problems for a customer. His Linksys router worked great until 2 weeks ago, when his computers suddenly had problems connecting reliably. Turns out, his SSID of "linksys" matched someone across the street who also bought the same model of router, leaving their default SSID of "linksys" in place too. His PCs saw two devices with good signal strength having identical names and were alternating between using his and using his neighbor's router. (Neither person had WEP or WPA encryption set up.)

My current iPhone is my last! I disgusted with Apple's monopolist stranglehold on the product and apps. They have become total control freaks.
When this phone dies, it will NOT be replaced with another Apple product.

RFID Maybe useful for locating the device if it was stolen. Please Apple, can you render these small & expensive mobile devices useless if they are stolen?! It would deter thieves!

Is it normal for it to take 45 minutes to export a 9-minute video via quicktime? I'm working off a desktop OSX and am a total novice at movie making.

Even Final Cut Pro will only use ONE core of your CPU (I hope to goodness their new update finally addresses that blunder of all blunders of all time). Handbrake is like 3x faster than Final Cut Pro even with ONE core, let alone many. But don't blame Apple. They've been far too busy updating iOS to bother with making OSX apps faster, update graphics drivers or the OpenGL libraries or generally do anything that makes OSX better than Windows these days. Phones are far more important than Macs. :rolleyes:

Just my thoughts.
I think some of you are confused as to what �Carrier preferences� means. It�s not saying anything about which iPad is selling better. All it says is which iPad people would �like� to have. It doesn�t even mean which they �do� have. (AT&T iPad owner might want the Verizon one because of the bad service). So a AT&T iPad user �may� show under the Verizon numbers. Also its no shock the AT&T iPad is harder to acquire. Its most likely due to customers being �use� to the company. (example: mom buying her son an ipad will go to AT&T if they have AT&T phones.)
Remember a good deal of iPhone customers are still AT&T customers. So when they bought their iPad why not just by the AT&T one. So since the mass �I� users are already with AT&T it only makes sense that that iPad would sell better. Also understand that not all AT&T customers hate AT&T.

Unless I misread the report, basically all Target did was remind the studios that the DVD format is in jeopardy and they better get with the times or Target will. And if studios need Target and Wal-Mart to tell them that, they're in more trouble than I ever thought.
My understanding was different. I take it that they are taking the same stance that Wal-Mart is, and that is that if the movie industry allows iTunes to sell movies, they will make the record companies pay for it (in a negative way). The retailers aren't ready to take on iTunes and the online market, so they are going to use their power to stall the transition to digital downloads as long as they possibly can.
What Target is doing is anti Apple, and more importantly, anti the progression of technology and lifestyle.

Question for folks who have gone (or purchased ticket voucher). From the looks of it, you buy a voucher, which you then redeem online for a ticket, correct? Can you buy the voucher now, but fill in the attendee ticket details at a later time? I'm going to buy, but there's the off chance I won't be able to attend, so I'd like to give the ticket to someone else.
Yes. I got mine this morning, and buying a ticket is separate from activating it. After you buy, you'll get a link to activate it, and you could forward that link to someone else if you can't go. Once one person activates it, however, it becomes non-transferable.

I hear all this talk about an iPhone coming soon, which is great, but what carrier will Apple use?
It looks like they are going to use Cingular or maybe T-Mobile. I really doubt Apple using Sprint, Verizon or ONLY wifi. Wifi would be pointless because it would be very limited to certain areas only. I think their phones will be GSM, and all us customers who use cdma will be left out in the cold.
There are a lot more restrictions on a cdma phone than on a GSM phone. This really sucks because Verizon is the only company that works where I live...
