If TCS or any Indian firm claims you owe them something since you quit them after coming to US (contract breach or whatever), they will not release your PF until you clear your accounts with them. Call is yours after seeing if the payback is greater than PF??

They also didn't ask me to sign form G28. Is this ok? Does this mean that receipt number will be mailed to me directly?
G28 is to help attorney represent you. Since you mentioned that your employer deal with attorney on all of their employee cases, Attorney will not ask your G28. If you are paying the fees then you have all the rights to ask the status. If your employer is paying for 485, then you should politely ask your HR about the fate of your application. Attorney's may not even respond to your request as they have no established relationship with you but your employer.

I read dailykos.com, a liberal blog site, often. Recently, there has been a spate of postings there that are anti H-1B and anti high tech immigration. One example, from today, is: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2007/3/28/82450/4208. I have been posting comments as cacophonix.
dailykos.com is the most powerful and most popular liberal blog. Opinion that gets set there is influential with Democratic legislators. There is significant support there for high-tech immigration, but I think the tide could easily turn.
I need help from fellow IVers in refuting such ridiculous diaries as the one above. Please register and follow developments there, and please post responses when these issues come up.
I can't stress this enough: dailykos has a strict trolling/abuse policy. If you lose your cool and start abusing, you will get banned in a flash. So please be courteous.
I read your response, it was good and I signed up as well. I will post my response refuting anti h1 rhetoric.
On a separate note Logiclife response was spot on and I hope IV will follow in the footsteps of dailykos in dealing with the nonsense mongers.
I will take this opportunity to bring some anti-h1 rhetoric and h1 bashing that happens in our very own IV site!!!!!!!. I don’t want to name the individual who specializes in h1 bashing, so as not to make it a personal attack on that individual. A few days ago I posted a message on one of the threads in IV saying day by day reading some responses on h1 bashing makes me feel like I am on an anti-immigrant website rather than a website fighting for legal eb immigrants.
It feels sad and disheartening to see some members attacking h1 when they themselves are on h1. By attacking h1 they are attacking the very movement and people that IV is trying to help. Sure there are some abuses on h1 but lets not attack h1 like anti immigrants. Let’s fight the people outside who attack h1 and this community but let’s also clean our own house as well and not parrot the same anti h1 rhetoric in IV forum.

Hi,
We applied for EAD and Adv parole renewal on July 2nd for my wife. Her new EAD card was received in September and no word on the Adv Parole yet. Online status still shows 'case received and pending'.
She had her previos Adv Parole expiring on Oct 22nd. She left to India on Oct 1st. Now that her previous Adv Parole has expired and new one still not approved, will they allow her to enter US?

I did some research on traveling with AP. AFAIK it has to be approved while you are in US - especially if you are an AOS applicant.

Need advise - bumping this up...
Many of you must have filed for their AP - can you please share with me what is the best and the safest way to get my application to USCIS?
I was looking for some tracking to know the app got delivered and do it overnight so it gets there in a day.
Wasn't sure if UPS/fed-ex delivers to PO box addresses or should I just stick to USPS?
Also, whether some kind of delivery tracking can be done on PO box addresses?
Please advise folks... Thanks in advance for your help!

you will see that people that got USCIS I485 receipts, are those whose forms reached USCIS on Jun 25th. That would mean that as of last week USCIS was entering in the cases that came in in the end of Jun. They are not doing July filers yet....
My best bet is that they will begin doing July filers in the middle of next week (7/25) or even later and we will start seeing checks cleared by that date....

If your GC is getting approved today, then your priority date should be current, so I assume you will be (or would have) applied for dependent 485 for your wife (and son?) so they are going to be on AOS...

First round of interviews went well - now have to send my details to their HR to make sure EB2 porting will work.
However, does filing AC21 (same or similar) cause a conflict with EB2 filing in this case? Should they file and get I-140 approved and then only I should join them?

First..
None has ANY idea what's going on inside of USCIS.. by one account something like 30% of experienced adjudicators quit last year!
Second..
Even if lets say you get what you want.. what would that achieve??? ultimately your case gets decided on its merit..
But chances are people like you.. you will put another question and then 1 more and then 1 more..

Use the reply from Ombudsman's office and do an inquiry via your local senators office. Also call up central customer service and open a service request. (Get the number and info of the call like the timings and officers name). Finally if you date is current and is not getting picked up for adjudication. File a WOM.
