Since both drives are internal, you can indeed dedicate one drive to Windows.
If you plan on using it frequently and feel like opening it, you can upgrade the ram and stick an ssd in for a significant boost in responsiveness.
Other than that, you could put Plex on it to replace the AppleTV, or use it as a file/webserver, etc.
I don't think I will need any of the server features, and I'm not to tech Savy, just deal savy. Unless there is 1 or 2 killing features that OS X server can bring to me I think putting on SL would suite me better and use less resources.
the user interface looks a bit different and has many program/Apps/settings that I have no clue what they are for. I think I will need to read up on it or take a few classes to understand what it all means.
I think I'm going to clone an SL OS over as it has no disc drive or would a clean remote install of SL be better?
I've opened many mini's before so putting in a SSD will be a great upgrade. I just need to get a cheap 250 GB SSD

maybe you don't need to decide right now whether it will be more than a hobby.
if you love it, then keep working at it! enter competitions, share your photos with friends, and have a gallery exhibit when you're ready. ultimately, if/when you are ready to be professional, it will be clear. but don't limit yourself with labels for now- just keep taking pictures, keep experimenting, and be open to possibility.

photography is his passion, and his job is completely unrelated. it's been really cool to watch his progress.
keep up the passion:)

Now that I have a great new white iPhone 4, I'm taking a wait and see approach.
It has nothing to do with the color, but rather how great this new model is.
Normally I trust Apple and pre order the moment they release each new iPhone. But after getting burned with Antennagate, I'm not taking the risk.
Another shocker is how many improvements the new white iP4 has. It's far and away the best of all smartphones.
The performance as a phone is wonderful. Loud and clear, it doesn't drop calls. So now that I have a great iPhone there's no reason to get iPhone 5.
I'm going to enjoy this one till iPhone 6.
You keep posting this drivel.
This is not a new iPhone only a new color.
There is nothing any more spectacular about it.
We black iPhone users have been using it for 10 months now.

I was given some Harman Kardon soundsticks for Christmas but they stopped working after 3 months, and they were too quiet anyway. Can anyone recommend some 2.1 speakers that do not pick up mobile phone interference please?

I was in a similar situation several months ago. Difference being I had to replace my Tibook as it got a bit dinged up as I defended myself withit in a mugging attempt. While the mugger got away with a beating my powerbook sadly died while saving me and my ipod. Left with no computer and short on funds, I picked up a mac mini. Since I do video editing as well as 3d work with blender several people repeatedly told me that it wouldn't be enough for what I was asking from it. Well I have to report that while certain tasks do take longer, it still has done everything I have asked of it. It wasn't too long ago that we were running these tasks on much slower g4's and g3's. So the question you ask yourself isn't will I abe able to do xxx with a mini, the answer is yes. Rather the question should be in this case, will the mini be able to do it at least as well as the kit I am replacing. At least that is how I look at things. Sure A dual g5 will be better suited for what I want to do, but if I had the dosh for it I would have bought it and not had a question about it being able to replace my g3.

[...]I've heard that some people (like really smart fanboys) know how to do it.
I was going to help you until I read that line.
Instead, all you'll get from me is this comment, and a stiff suggestion that you use this tool (http://www.google.com/), like everyone else has for years. I'm confident even you could have found an answer if you tried.

Does anyone know if you can use two iTunes accounts (or AAC files from two different accounts) in the same iTunes library and on one iPod? I think I've found that the iPod really doesn't care about the AAC protection, it just plays it, but what about my iTunes library? I guess what I am really asking is can one computer be authorized to play music from multiple iTunes accounts?

Hi. I'm wondering if mixing and matching even Apple production apps affects their compatibility? Moving "up" to a Mac has been a bubble-buster since I discovered the dark side of legacy software and machines in an "upgraded to Intel" world.
I have a "Late '05" 2.3 dual core PPC 10.5.8 Leopard that came loaded from eBay with all the bells and whistles, assembled, apparently, from a grab bag and I have no disks for the uninstalling and reinstalling tricks.
FCP is version 5.0.4, Compressor is 2.0.1, Logic Studio is 8.0.1, iDVD is 7.0.4 and DVD Studio is 3.0.2. (Do all these fit together? Looks like a production suite made from the parts box. LOL!)
I have Toast 10 Titanium too.
The reason I mention that is, I'm having not only exporting problems with Compressor, quality problems exporting in Quicktime Conversion to AVI, but also burning issues with DVDs that won't play in the living room deck.
Compressor 2 gives me the now-famous Cannot Submit Batch message. I've tried all sorts of fixes -yes, even the Compressor Repair that's made for Compressor 3 and above. Again the legacy thing. After googling for more tricks, I have discovered Compressor 2's "preference file" is missing from Home>Library>Preferences. Hmmm. Maybe a new Compressor is in order? Which version should I install since I have all this mixed bag of wares?
So, Toast won't play, iDVD won't play, Compressor won't compress and AVI from Quicktime Conversion looks like crap. (I understand Toast 9 has good reports but since they "improved" it, I have no use for it. Again, the legacy.)
iDVD let me assemble and burn a DVD but it doesn't play properly. I made an .iso in there and burned it with Disk Utility. The deck plays the menu but I won't know anything else until I find the flippin' remote! That's something to remember though: burning in Disk Utility. That and finding the remote.
I can't even use DVD Studio until I figure out how to import and burn iDVD projects because of the issues between FCP and Compressor. So we're back to square one. FCP>Compressor won't work and it messes me up with FCP>DVDSP. Too bad. I like the Apple production apps but I'm about ready to jam CS4...

If you have no experience in this type of work, I would suggest using a service like Jotform. Easy, web-based form builder. They host the database. You can embed the from anywhere.

i'm not hosting the stuff myself, so I'm going to go with the .htaccess file route.
Thanks for all the help - this is great :D
It works great, and the standard permissions are 644, so that wasn't an issue. Now I need to set up an error page - what error number is that?

Neither is what I would call GPU-intensive. As a matter of fact GarageBand '11 runs perfectly happilly on my iMac 1.83 Core Duo with a ATI X1600, and my MacBook White with a Intel X3100 - neither of which is remotely powerful compared to the GPU in my 11" Air. The situation is the same with Logic Pro, however the big downside with an Air is the lack of FireWire. If it fits in your workflow then a MBA w 4/8GB RAM should handle GarageBand/Logic Express/Logic Pro just fine (Heck my low-end 11"/1.4/2GB MBA handles Final Cut Pro for basic editing and even Motion 4 at a pinch, so Graphics definitely shouldn't be an issue).
That is great to know. I do not fear that much regarding FireWire, put simply because it is likely that Thunderbolt/Lightpeak is incorporated in the next MBA revision. I had been told that the MBA 13'' with 4GB of RAM studdered a bit when creating music on Garage Band '11 (input being an electrical guitar). That's the reason I created this topic, and still request for more feedback. ;)

The iPod touch bluetooth only works for headphones. There's no profile for anything else. Even if there was one, there's no user visible file system on the iPod Touch.

Well that's it. I guess we graphic designers will soon be obsolete models!
I imagine some day Honda will invent a robot that can conceptualize and that has an imagination. Then we're really screwed.

Have you tried all the best buys in Manhattan ?
Search JR Electronics (They have a few stores , and even one in macys herald square i believe) ? , ask if you can use prepaid debit cards ?
J and R only has one store, per se. It's departments are sometimes in seperate buildings, but it's really just one sprawling complex. It's apple section is on the 4th floor, not a ton of stuff there, I'd argue it's on par with the Apple section @ a typical best buy. Maybe a bit more stuff, but not significantly so.

Oh my god! I tried to do this exact same thing last night with absolutely no luck as well...
When you use the "Advanced Setup" it asks for an ftp server, a site name.. and it assumes the port.
Then it goes through its "Setup" and tells you your remote hosting ftp blogger account has been setup on your server for you.
Apparently the folks over at blogger think that minor things like usernames and passwords are unnecessary for ftp access.
I have no idea how to set it up either.
