Just called the Emeryville Apple store, and asked them if I could camp out there. They said they don't care but that I should check with Bay Street security. They gave me the number. The lady I talked to said that no camping is allowed on the sidewalk or street and police will be out that night. The time people can start lining up is at 7am. I called the Apple store on Powell in San Francisco and they said it no problem, no one ever gets bothered. Guess thats where I will be!

Howdy. I recall reading a terminal option that enables compression of data... but the method is a tad tedious.
Is there a hidden setting, terminal or GUI, that will automatically compress files? Especially for mobile computing where space is more limited, this would be a boon and I could try using my 80GB SSD again to install CS5 and Logic Studio.

You have unrealistic expectations for the price and features you want.
You'd probably have to go with a regional carrier for what you want, because national carriers aren't going to have plans you want.
AT&T charges $40/month for 450 minutes of voice and $15/month for 200MB data. I believe someone upthread gave T-Mobile's prices.
Of course, another option is pay as you go. That doesn't require unlocking if you stick with AT&T.
Basically I want an iPhone 4, but am mostly around WiFi, I'd be ok with some data, but I really don't need it. I'm looking to buy the phone upfront, and maybe $20-$40 for service afterwards, but I'm open to compromise to keep it cheaper.
As of now, I'm using an iPod touch with textfree but I need more stability.
I would like unlimited texting (sms not needed) and maybe 500-1000 minutes a month... any suggestions?
Also, I have no idea how to do a carrier unlock (or when its needed, even) but I do know how to jailbreak.

You need to start your own rental service and recoup some of those gaming funds; you'll probably turn a profit in a week's time with all the games you've been getting lately mate. ;)

How does it compare to an alubook keyboard? Does it have the same feel to it? I'm a bit worried that the keys will not feel as 'soft' as the alubook's.

HOWEVER, it does seem to compare very nicely from my limited experience. Trust me, this is a nice keyboard especially if you are used to laptops. Finally, I think you might be in luck. I believe I did a Google search and came up with some European/Japanese sites that carried this and/or had some reviews of it. I could swear that in a review I came across some info that you could get a BT version of the IceKey. If they sold it here in the states I'd get one as my G5 is BT. Can any of the 2011 iMac owners check if any of the components in their newly bought iMac operate underclocked?
Apple has, in the past, been known to do this to maintain a certain power consumption or thermal level.
This could explain some of the "low" scores we are seeing of late.

Running 10.7 DP2. iTunes runs fine, until I plug in my iPhone, at which point iTunes beach balls uncontrollably.

Thats probably the gayest trailer I have ever seen, save for the ending logo.

It is a viewer for PDF and such. Also allows you to take screen shots. Those are the two features I use most in Preview.
