My 2 cents: The MacBook are definitely going to be updated this month. Most likely tomorrow. Why do I think this? AppleInsider has reliable sources, they have never completely been wrong. The MacBooks will get Core 2 Duos (1.83, 2.0, 2.16), 802.11n cards, and possibly hard drive & RAM increase. Realistically we won't be getting a dedicated graphics card, bigger screens, or firewire 800.

Enjoying my Core 2 Duo MBP.

I'd like to point out the reason it is being released at WWDC. It has a form of widgets and internet connectivity options. It will be a whole new platform for developers to release apps. I was told this 6 months ago, by somebody who has always given me Apple rumors correctly.

Surely there's a place for a high capacity iPod. 32GB doesn't cut it. Even 64GB doesn't cut it.

at some point i'd love to get a new laptop (debating between a powerhouse mbp i7 or a sexy little mba) but i'm pretty happy with my setup as is.

There is one thing in your setup which breaks my heart......

I'm thrilled with the new gapless playback feature.
It's so nice to have all my Grateful Dead shows play seemlessly!
Kinda funny -- even before I had tried the new iTunes, I ordered the 8 gig Nano with the inscription:

    the music
    never stops

    now it's truer than ever.

Now here is one place where the superiority of the Zune comes through. Many, many words rhyme with "Zune", in contrast to the sadly rhyme-challenged "iPod". You can even have:

    "I played a mellow tune
    On my yellow Zune."

With iPod, you pretty much run out after "tripod".
    ---
    Ha!
    Ive an even better one:

"Id really go to town if I had a Zune t'was brown"
And we all know what brown reminds us of besides chocolate....

If they are increasing distribution points, it means that Apple is producing more volume and is able to better stock each distribution point. If Apple for exMpke was shipping ten iPads per day to each best but, front think that because they are adding toys r us, that best buy is losing any of their shipments. It just means that apple is producing more product and is able to ship that product to more retailers.

Imagine this, if you will. The Beatles 8 gigabyte (or larger) iPod complete with the entire Beatles library. 3.5" touch screen in a yellow case. Is Valentine's Day far away?

Of course to each his own but I have never gotten why the Beatles are a big deal? I grew up around that era but don't consider them to be super great. Now I am for anything that adds content that people want so Beatles for that reason will be a good thing. I think of them as the original boy band at first that morphed into drugged out folks. Some of the stuff in between is OK.

One of the Mac screen savers will do mosaics of photos from a folder... it's kind of cool to watch them zoom out into a mosaic, but can get hypnotic... ;)

Mine for today... from last summer's archives, since I've been somewhat dormant the last couple of weeks or so...

Are foldable/flexible displays ready? Strange that Xerox shut down Gyricon. I wonder if this product could actually, be sold to Borders and Barnes and Nobles. When you walk into the store instead of seeing paperback and hardbound books, you see hunreds of thousands of these on shelves. This could totaly change the way the publishing/library system works. You have a few of these flexible OLED displays that you just bring or rent from your local library or the book store and then you just go back or download a new one. The only problem is that there would have to be a simple way to charge these since it would be crazy to just stick them in thousands of bases, need to be as easy as slipping them into the shelf. So, if they created som sort of mat like SplashPower they would charge through the plastics. So, you could have these wonderfully moddern bookshelves that actually were splashpowered...And since covers sell books when and individual picked up one of these new Apple ibooks the cover art would have an animation sequence not just a static image. I can just see it now all these ladies picking up and seeing Fabio flexing his muscles on Appple's newest Ibook Ereader with it's flexible OLED display.

This just proves how idiotic humanity is. These songs have been available in multiple formats for over 40 years, but only now, since they are offered in a lossy digital file, do people buy them.

    Aww... love this quote:

Music is so deep within all of us, but it's easy to go for a day or a week or a month or a year without really listening to music. And the iPod has changed that for tens of millions of people, and that makes me really happy, because I think music is good for the soul.

    What a nice interview.

Looks like nothing has changed but the processor. Gentlemen, commence your bitching.
They also doubled the RAM on both 2GHz models, and I think they upped the superdrive as well (from 4x to 6x). And put slightly bigger hard drives, but the latter isn't really interesting.

    Minor upgrade, but upgrade nonetheless

Is anyone else having the issue with the double vibrate when you get a text?? I had this issue with 4.3 and I have heard no complaining about it. Everyone I know who has 4.3 has the double vibrate so it's not just my phone, but I haven't heard anyone else say anything. It's pretty annoying. Anyway, I was just wondering if this fixed that issue or not.

    wooohoo first!

You don't win any prizes for that...

New iMac looks nice. 24"? never would have guessed it

at the $1999 price though, the $2499 Mac Pro starts to look attractive (or the downgraded to 2Ghz Mac Pro which is $2199)...

EDIT: then again, I don't have a big screen at home, so the 24" iMac would be a huge upgrade in both screen and computing power

whether or not they did this. although with how hard the pressure all of their suppliers, i would NOT believe that they didnt exert some form of pressure on the movie studios

Nice little bump, right about what I expected except even the low end should have at least 1GB of RAM.

I still have my fingers crossed the website is down because Apple is finally filling the product line hole of a headless machine in between the Mac mini and the Mac Pro for those of us who already have a nice monitor and need something more powerful than a mini but less expensive than a Mac Pro.... A nice mini-Tower using Conroe chips in the $1200-$1800 range would be nice...
