If you need help, there is a Help menu in nearly all OS X applications and all Apple ones. Best way if you need help in a pinch.
It is a big difference from Windoze... a help system that actually works!

Thinking about getting a 360 for a couple FPS games and maybe Oblivion. Looks like a fun game, and I was just wondering if the impression I get from the reviews are correct, or if it's just overzealous writers. :p
The game sounds like it's almost a single player FPS in that there are lots of quests which you can pick up or not and the game more or less just presents options to you rather than following any sort of dictated path. In other words, very open ended like an MMO. Is that accurate, or is it more structured than that? Thanks! :)

Ws was the math to increase to retina display pixel density? 3800x2400 or something ridiculous? I don't see an iPhone equivalent retina display coming any time soon, or an iPad three. Why would they, it just gets cheaper to build and they are already MILES ahead....and honestly I hoped other people would catch up.
iOS 5 should correct some issues...mostly the damn notification system.

Hi Everyone,
I've been reading comments on the forums, but couldnt find an answer so here it goes...
Current setup:
Lacie External HD = 1T, 7200 RPM
Macbook =*2.16ghz with 4g RAM
Airport Extereme Base Station = latest model setup with N only.
The HD is connected using Firewire 400. The Macbook is connected to AEBS via ethernet.
Problem:
When streaming 720P video source from external HD over local wifi the video hangs every couple of minutes during play.*When streaming the same source from the laptop directly it does not hang (it hangs but less frequently).
Since I dont want to place all my movie files onto my laptop I need your help setting up a system with new or existing hardware to improve streaming. I dont want to transfer movies to laptop, I'd rather keep them on an external HD.
Thanks in advance,
*

can't you just get a fresh microsim from at&t?
Shouldn't they be happy to provide you with a sim if you subscribe to an ipad data plan?

Thanks, yes I mean encapsulation.
I'll investigate these strategies. I can take the easy way out and recreate a new animated view with every viewController but it just seems wrong.

I wanna preface this by informing everyone that I despise Kobe Bryant.
However, I think the term he used has become such a commonplace derogatory name that to call it anti-gay is hardly appropriate anymore.
Looking for everyone's thoughts on the event.

Sorry you disagree, but it's a fact of life... the MP3 format does not support gapless playback inherently, so to speak. Here is a link to an aticle discuss the problem and the solutions to it. http://www.pretentiousname.com/mp3players/ and also a quote from the article, in case someone doesn't want to read it: The MP3 format has inherent flaws which, unless worked around, mean it cannot move seamlessly from one track to the next without adding silence or at least a click. The article then goes into some formats that do support gapless playback (AAC and OGG, for example), and some of the 'hacks' and tricks that players COULD use (but most, including the iPod) to fix the MP3 gapless playback issues.
Since the iPod can't play OGG files (hoping for this in the next revision, like all SLashdotters ;-) ), AAC is the best choice for gapless playback on the iPod.
Rob
EDIT: The author of that article mentions that he is unsure of wether AAC supports gapless playback. I THOUGHT that it did, but I could be wrong, so using AAC may or may not fix this ploblem. I'll try to look into it further what formats support gapless playback that are also supported by the iPod. He goes om further to say that the iPod doesn't support any gapless playback, so it may be that my search for an answer will be in vein.

The no to AV was a negative campaign!
Perfectly demonstrated by this advert below your post!
Besides, the BNP thinks that AV will be bad for them. As good an advert for if I ever saw one.

so everybody can buy an imac, try it and return it used after 14 days and apple doesnt care? that doesnt make much sense
You could, but I think Apple is betting most people wouldn't, and the extra benefit might convince someone to take the jump, know they can safely return it without lose cash.

hey everybody, as you can see in my sig, i have an ipod touch 4th gen, 32gb
picked it up from costco a couple weeks ago.
but, im waiting until i open it to get a case.
now i want to get a clear-coat full body thing to go with it because i hate thhe little scratches taht come on the back of ipod touches
so i need a case which will fit with the ipod touch clear coat on it, and isn't too expensive.
the .99 ones from ebay aren't an option because my dads paypal got suspended... sigh...

It wouldn't be worth paying for shipping. Go to Wal-Mart, Target, Radioshack, or any store with a decent electronics department.

Found this in 5 seconds with google search for "mobile broadband powerpc".
http://www.virginmobileusa.com/mobile-broadband/ovation-mc760.html
http://www.virginmobileusa.com/mobile-broadband/mifi-2200.html
Both simply say you need OS X 10.3+ which means it must support PowerPC as there was no public 10.3 for Intel.

Checking my activity monitor yesterday, I saw a process called 'ReportCrash' for a few seconds and then it dissapeared.
Should I reboot my Mac when I see that?
My Mac is running properly right now, and I have yet to notice any crash, slowdown or glitch in a running app at all.
