Yawn. What's the point? This thing will have a shelf life of 5.5 months at most and then it will be superceded by a more powerful model. Surely anyone who wanted an iPhone 4 (white or black) has bought one by now. How many holdouts can there SERIOUSLY be??
I doubt theres anyone waiting specifically for this phone, but there are still people who are coming off contract and this is a fresh option vs the black model. People still buy older phones. The 3GS is still for sale and I'm sure there are people buying it.

Bah, these things are rubbish. The scroll wheel clogs up with dirt, just as scroll ball mice did in days gone by - except there is no user access to clean it thoroughly. Apple need to re-think the design on this one before updating it.
And what makes you think that a fix for that is not part of this update?
If they come out with a Bluetooth mouse, I am all over it. My wrists get very tired using my Macbook's trackpad all day.

Apple doesn't currently produce their own displays now why would they wade into the low-margin muck that is the display market?
As a lot of others have said licensing Airplay to display producers makes the most sense

I tend to agree with you, but that is just business, and Microsoft is good at it. If we want to point fingers, point them at the consumers. The only reason Microsoft still pours money into things is because people will still buy their products. Microsoft also uses their position of having a large amount of disposable cash. If their product sucks, people won't buy it, and Microsoft suffers.
If that were true, Microsoft would never have been able to survive after Windows 95.
If a product sucks but almost everyone else is using it, most people will use it too.

I thought that the inverse scrolling was a bug, but in Lion Dev Preview 2 it is still there :eek:
It's done on purpose because we've been used to backwards scrolling all these years. Why should a mouse's scroll wheel control the scroll bar, and not the page you want to scroll? When you think about it, it's kind of silly to add that extra layer of abstraction when you don't need it.
Now it's been corrected - it takes almost no time to get used to it. Embrace it, and you'll be ok.

Apple once again confirmed that more and more people are moving in the Mac camp. The stock is still cheap. In the next 6 months we will see more switchers as new products come out.

$20/year is a reasonable charge, but it seems terribly disproportionate to the $99/year for MobileMe. I'm guessing if there's any validity to this rumor, we'll see some price restructuring for MobileMe. At least I'd hope so.

While I realize that this is the wrong place for it, that iMac I just bought is awesome although I was returning it either way for a larger hard drive so the update is best now.
Direct from DVD, it took Handbrake about 20 minutes to convert a movie to iTunes format. So sweet. And that's the lowest end 21 incher.

The biggest question I have is whether the dual Thunderbolt will support 2 external monitors.
Imagine a triple 27 inch setup! (Brain explodes at thought)
Displayport is suppose to support daisy-chaining from one port so the external monitor support could actually be higher than just 2 if Apple supported it. I believe the HD6970M can support at least 4 total display outputs, possibly 6?

Maybe just maybe I wasn't referring to any set of individuals but yet pointing out that anyone could go download the $1000 app and claim that it was an accident and get it re-imbursed. ;)

My 5G iPod fits in my 3G dock just fine, the only problem is that it's thinner so it doesn't fit snugly. I think it will have a dock connector (for accessories) and a headphone socket and hld switch at least, though a splash power charger would be cool, i can just see your iPod falling off it, for a similar feature why not just include a dock to connect to your computer?

If I worked there I would have stopped it. The employees there handled that situation the wrong way. They should have at least separated the people fighting. They didn't do anything besides saying stop. What is that going to do?
Sadly, that's company policy. Had any of those people had a gun and an employee was shot or stabbed with a knife the company would have quite a lawsuit on their hands. If the employees intervened further they would likely have lost their jobs.
When I worked retail I was told I would be fired if I chased a shoplifter out of the store.
