    The iTunes Store is SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW!!!!

Dreadfully slow. It took all of a minute to open Safari, go to Macrumors, go to the iPod/iTunes discussion section, come to this thread, and get all the way up to the word "slow" in order for it to come up. :(

Isn't it only a 30 drop - only done it so that it appears to be under a grand. Its not a significant drop - shame really, because its still so much more than the white one!

It's only 20 more now than a same-spec white one. Cheaper than before I think.

"What?? They released them already?? But I just bought...GAH!!!!!"- C.M.Sevilla

I AM SO CLOSE TO THAT LINE!!!!

In fact I just called the store and said to them; "Uh, what's wrong with this picture, I paid more for an outdated Macbook and I still haven't received it"...

So he said that he'll cancel the original order and place a new one.

See, I even added an extra 512MB RAM to the original order cause I had to have it with at least 1GB of ram. Glad to see it is now included in the in-store versions.

But it was terribly close, cause they promised me the MacBook for this week and since it still didn't show up, I was getting suspicious. I guess I was right, they did release new MacBooks. I just didn't expect it...

In any event, all is well, and they will reorder the MacBook with Core2Duo and it might take longer but I'll save some money and I'll get a better machine that is BRAND new...

So that's my story to share on a "How close were you to buy an old mac Today" story...

Have fun guys... and if I get it soon, I'll let you know just how well it performs and if Rosetta is still a drag... "it probably is..." but at least I'll be able to use Aperture without a problem on it...

    :) :D

Anyone planning to jailbreak their iPad 2, I advise to stay on 4.3. There were rumors that the software exploit used to jailbreak iPad 2 is patched in 4.3.1.

I may upgrade my iPhone, though, since I don't plan on jailbreaking it.

    Here is what I suspect...

    1) If no major case changes, a quiet introduction like today's iMac
    2) If a major case and feature change, a "One More Thing" next week...
    3) Perhaps the reason for the delay in introduction is the Meroms are still constrained and Apple wanted them in the iMacs first.

Either way, I'm anticipating them to be introduced soon and I'll be in line as quickly as possible along with many here to buy one.

I agree with 1 definitely. A simple chip upgrade woudn't qualify 2. 3, could be. And I'll be right there in line with you.

No it will not as I do not support cutting back on the Military ... we could use less freakin politicians and their waste than less Military personal

This shows you clearly don't understand how the military funds are used.

The troops cost $152.4 Billion....out of the $685.1 Billion 2010 military budget (which I don't think accounts for the massive CIA and so called "black budget).

Cutting military funding doesn't mean eliminating troops.

It's true that a high megapixel count is not anything like the most important factor about a camera, but everything else being equal more megapixels is better than fewer megapixels. I seriously doubt Apple is going to add megapixels just for the number on the specs list.

Why are you comparing the users? A good comparison would be the same user (good or bad) using different cameras/mobiles to take photographs.

    I don't understand your argument.

I think the point is that the technical specs of a photo, and the camera it was taken on, can't make a badly lit, poorly composed photo a good one, and (within reason) can't totally destroy the work of a good photographer who knows what they are doing but only had access to a 'lesser' camera.

Another way of looking at it might be that Leonardo da Vinci could do more impressive work with a pencil and paper than many people could do with a studio full of photoshop artists.

Again, WHY do they lack positive male figures? I'm trying to get down to the bottom of this. I know they have poverty in their communities, i know there is a lack of black men who take responsibility for children and knock women up one after another. It's not only poor black men that knock women up, filthy rich rappers do the same thing, so poverty has nothing to do with it. Only difference is rappers can afford to pay child support, even though they usually "sing" about not paying it. But i'm asking why it is like this. Is it a genetic thing or is it a cultural thing?

My mind boggles up as well.

I believe its because most black kids never got to be raised along their fathers because they either left them because they didn't want the kid or they were in jail, therefore leaving them without a fatherly figure.

That leaves the mom with the extra job, or in other cases, the grandmother which I find to be very common to be the authoritarian figure in the house.

But they can't do it alone, they, in most cases, have to work long hours to have money for food and a home to live in.

how come you use such a retro keyboard? It looks noisey!

I am a fan of mechanical keyboards. They are clunky and loud, but allows me to type very fast. Also, I'll probably type the apple keyboard to death in less than a month because I tend to bang on the keys.

The model I have now is Happy Hacking Keyboard Lite for Mac. The touch is fairly good but it has an eccentric layout that makes is difficult for me to blind-touch the command key. I hope to get a Matias Tactile Pro 3 soon.

Because those morons have to clear caches worldwide so that all the Akamai pages/sites are updated in sync.

Then maybe they should consider using an automated software solution for that instead - the morons seem to be slow ;)

Seriously, the international store shows a simple link to the iPad product page. That is _not_ a complex update.

Nipsy, you seem to be in a world of your own here. You're not paying attention to what people are saying and doing on this board and simply believing that you're right because you're a shareholder. I could buy a single share in Apple, but it doesn't mean that i'm going to be right about everything i think Apple should do.

If you want Apple to continue to be "behind" (is that a gentle enough word for you?) in the hardware sector, then that's fine.

But the FACT is that most Apple users, DON'T. They want to see Apple competing with PC hardware properly. Apple is already such a small part of the market and IMO, they need to increase speed to

Have you ever heard of the phrase "Give the people what they want" ? Well most people want speed and numbers.

And anyone who has said "I like your style, Nipsy" in this thread, no you don't, you just like the fact that he's defending your precious Macs. You guys whine and complain about what Apple's needs to do right, but as soon as someone points out that Apple is doing something wrong, you suddenly completely disagree with the very points that you yourselves were making. It's pretty pathetic.

Additionally, for the average person (who cannot read Hebrew and is not familiar with Jewish history and doctrine) it could be difficult to see the trinity in the old testament.

I'm a bit confused. How exactly does the context of the Old Testament point to a triune god? I've done a lot of academic study of the Tanakh in general, and Second Temple Judaism in particular, and I'm at a loss to where in Jewish orthodoxy the idea of a triune god exists.

    Well, yes, on a full-size C2D iMac.

But, did you notice the part where on a similar, C2D AOPEN Mini, running Windows 7, IE8 runs the same Flash movie at 0%-1%, Chrome and Firefox at 4%, but Safari goes to almost 30%.

I'd say it's Apple that has the problem, and not Adobe.

Flash works just fine, and it's useful and necessary to the vast majority of users. Adobe seems to be doing a very good job with 10, and from what I've seen, it runs just fine on mobiles presumably less powerful than the iPhone.

The way I see it, if there is a pi$$ing match between Apple and Adobe, and Adobe takes its ball (Creative Suite) and walks away from Apple, the Mac OS will die, for all practical purposes.

Anyway, the iPhone must have Flash, if it is to remain competitive, and Apple really needs to dedicate some resources, and make sure Flash (and Java) run better on OS X.

First, comparing flash for windows to flash for osx is like comparing apples and oranges. Second, As for your numbers for flash on Safari vs Firefox... I get the same numbers for both. 70%! That sucks any way you slice it. Given that Safari is the fastest browser out there, I don't think it's apples fault. Flash just isn't written well for apple hardware, and until it is, apple won't allow it on the iphone.
