Apple always credits responsible reporters of security issues.

They don't always. Just like they don't always acknowledge security issues within OSX.

    Hi again,

I managed to solve the problem. My UIViewController subclass as configured correctly. The problem was in the configuration of the Navigation Controller. I had to Specify the Class name in IB for the UIViewController embedded in the Navigation Controller. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Ok so here is plan B in effect:

Got the retail disc on the way, going to erase my flash drive and put the retail image on that drive. Once I boot from it I'll erase the 1,1's HDD and do a clean install.

    Hopefully that works.

I want to thank everyone for their input so far it's been very helpful.

It also used to be easy enough to modify the machine CD to trick it into thinking its a retail disk?

I'm not sure, I'm hoping there will be enough phones for everyone who turns up - do you know what it has been like for previous launches?

We've just learned that Apple has ordered the app developer of a Web browser for iPhones and iPads to disable vital functionalities in the two devices. The gatekeepers at the iTunes store, which sell the highly-rated German browser iCab, ordered it to disable all Javascript code in iPads and iPhones.

Terribly, terribly deceptive summary. Apple requested they remove JavaScript ADDONS, not remove JavaScript functionality which is still carried out through WebKit.

Still stupid though. Didn't realize iCab had this functionality. Would be cool for Javascript injection xD

I'd consider upgrading. The 8600m is something of a timebomb and is likely to fail at some point.

Thanks for the suggestion. I noticed it has a scheduling feature which is nice and what I've been looking for. I have several other questions in relation to this:

What kind of hardware would I need for this, and what type of internet connection? Would a normal pc or a netbook with an attached higher quality webcam (thinking of going with a higher quality Logitech) be enough? What about bandwidth usage? Wouldn't I need a really fast upload connection if I'm planning on using a direct stream? Cable modem? FIOS? Or is there some service which allows you to stream to them and they relay to your site (similar to Justin.tv or Stream.tv, though I'd prefer not to deal with them in particular)?

I shall try and answer all of these to the best i can, but i can tell you now i'm no possessional on this!(:

I have done this a couple of times now, once just through my built in camera, the quality of the camera, is crap, but when i saw it on the internet i didn't think it was that bad. I have also used a high quality camera (cost me around 50) and the quality was fantastic, did lag at times, but you get that no matter where you go.
So, i would recommend you use an attached camera, but built in ones do work fine.

I'm affraid i don't know the full answer to how much bandwith it was using... HOWEVER, i can tell you that i was uploading it, while on sufering the web, and the effect wasn't that bad. I have also ran it through 3G on my phone, connected to my laptop, and it was OKAY but i couldn't load anything else.
I have allways used a wireless.

Sorry, but i have no experience on the other services, i did try using steam.tv but i got fed up with it.

May i also point out that the audio on it isn't very good.

While running Handbrake, open the OSX Activity Monitor and look at the CPU usage meter (Command-2). Are both your processors maxed out at full? If so, then it's probably not a question of the Hard drive being too slow, as it's feeding the program with enough data to keep it running full blast.

My favorite is SilverStripe. Not as widely used or known, but I love the flexibility it gives me as a developer and it is pretty user-friendly, too.

Side note -- Ruby on Rails is framework, not really a CMS. It would be comparable to Cake, Symfony or Yii (frameworks for PHP).

    Hi everyone,

I searched the forums for similar issues and I found some hints but they didn't really work so I'm coming to you for additional advice. Thanks in advance.

I'm in a bit of a panic mode but I'll try to keep my cool :)

I have a 2008 MBP (Alu one), shipped with 10.5 and upgraded to 10.6. Never had a single problem until yesterday. I ran the 10.6.7 update, together with a security fix and a Java update, all through the software updater program. Everything installs ok, the system asks me to reboot to finalize, I comply...but then it happened.

The system is stuck at the Apple Logo/Spinning wheel thing. Just hung there for more than 30 minutes before I decided to force-shut it down and restarted it. Same thing. I did a PRAM/SMC reset, no success, and the system will not boot in Safe Mode. There is no weird chime/tone at startup, just the regular one.

    What you should know:

-I can boot on my Windows 7 bootcamp partition with no problem, everything works fine (which is good cause I can save my files from there).
-I started in Verbose Mode and the system didn't go further than "airport rsn handshake complete on en1"
-I started in Single User mode and the system didn't go further than "Link Down on en1. Reason 8 (Disassociated because station leaving)."
-I don't have access to another Mac so I can try and boot/repair from there

    Possible solutions:

-I didn't perform a "Safe Single User mode" start, but I don't think it's gonna do anything at this stage.
-The Repair Disk (in disk utility, booting from the install DVD) and/or format are the only things to do?

IMPORTANT note: I lost my SL Install DVD when I moved from the UK to Cyprus, but I still have my 10.5 Install DVD that came with the computer. I assume I cannot do anything with that, since I upgraded to SL, right? Would it be ok if I purchased another retail copy of SL, or does it have to be the EXACT SAME disc in order to perform a disk repair/OS format? In that case I'm basically screwed, aren't I?

Thanks a lot for your insights :)

The Denison unit seems good enough, but I don't like the dock....bulky.

I'd prefer the solution Monster has come up with, that is, just a cable to connect to the iPod...no dock.

I wonder what the prices are like for the Denison ice>Link is. $200 for the Monster solution seems pretty steep.

    ifixit.com.

    'Nuff said.

sorry, I should have mentioned that I've checked ifixit.com, and they have no specific directions on that. All they say is "Remove the following ten screws: Two 9 mm Torx Plus screws, Eight 2.6 mm 5-point Pentalobe screws. To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order."

Well, If you own 2 keyboards and 2 mice then why don't you check to see if your monitor already supports 2 computers and that will save you money?
