As an American so you have no idea what conservative or liberal really means. Those words have been distorted by your politics over the last half century. Conservative is supposed to mean "balance the budget and pay down the debt" through prudent spending cuts without raising of taxes.
What your so-called conservatives have done is cut taxes for the rich only, increased spending in the military industrial complex and refused to pass healthcare reform that could potentially save billions of dollars per year. The US spends more on healthcare per capita than any other country but it has the worst healthcare per capita than any other country in the world. Even Cuba has better healthcare.
Being a conservative is not about having no social programs but rather it is about being fiscally responsible with tax payers money and spending on social programs that serve the majority of citizens and help promote a strong and healthy workforce. The workforce is the engine of the economy.

I have dated all pc users in the past, but at the time I was a pc user as well, so I cannot comment as to the heart and intellect of Mac using women vs. their pc counterparts. Strange question: can you use the Firmware Restoration CD to update your firmware? This disc is designed to fix a bad update from CD, bypassing the hard disk and the RAID array. Seems to me that it should work, in theory.

I tried this with my RAID0 Mac Pro and it doesn't work I am afraid. I can't get it to update when you hold down the power button. I really think that Apple have to address this problem. RAID0 is not going to be very unusual with the new Mac Pros.

Not to mention when dealing with these types of cases, discrimination is not generally proved in hiring cases with evidence from a single case, but rather over a whole set of applicants.
Just look at the Walmart case for a good example of how these things are proven. There, it wasn't just that one woman didn't get a promotion, but that there was clear evidence of policies and practices that promoted men and not otherwise equivelent women.

Well, bear in mind they were sued (successfully, the first time around) for using that! ;)
I'm more concerned with trademark names of products rather than companies, given that each company could have dozens of products, hence there is much greater potential for contention over product trademarks than company trademarks.
Honestly, I don't have much problem where company or product trademarks are generic terms not directly associated with their respective industries, for instance Apple Computers ("Elephant Cars", "Earthquake Chocolates" etc..) The potential for name contention there isn't that great.
But when companies attempt trademark generic terms which have relevance in that specific domain - such as "pod" for a portable device for storing and carrying digital media, the likelihood for contention over names skyrockets.
I don't really have much sympathy for any company who wants to leverage familiarity/phonetic similarity with everyday words, but then in turn fights to have exclusive rights to phonetic variations of it.

i'm working on my ph.d. in applied physics and our lab researches thermoelectric materials. there is no known material yet that is 30 % efficient, as the article claims. the most common material used in refrigerators (Bi2Te3) is only ~ 5 % efficient. a lot of money is being poured into this field to increase the efficiency, but so far the enhancement has been incremental. companies like general motors want to use the seebeck effect of thermoelectric materials to convert waste heat in automobiles back into electricity. 60% of the energy generated from gas is wasted as heat. NASA has been using thermoelectrics for years as RTG's to power deep space probes. i'd love one to be in my laptop, but the efficiency is being overstated here. it's suspicious. and the small dT values from the chip to the air would also be small, so very little voltage could be generated. although, i heard a rumor that some companies were looking into powering a liquid metal (InGa) liquid coolant system with the computers own waste heat. who knows.

Yeah, only a couple 1000 25MB pictures would fit on a Ipad 64GB, not near enough. :rolleyes:
Well lets see by my current usage that is 2 weekends worth of shots since i fill up 4 8GB cards. And who would imagine i would want access to all of my pictures or at least a months worth at a time and other things like apps, music and videos. :rolleyes:

Since the iPad data payment can't be tied to a pre-existing AT&T or Verizon cell phone plan, I just don't see much advantage to getting a Verizon iPad unless you live in an area without AT&T service. Thoughts?
Not true. I just added a fifth iPad to an AT&T Wireless Postpaid account, and I fully expect to add more (on that's on order right now, probably more to come).
SOOOOOO much easier than dealing with the prepaid nonsense, with individual usernames, passwords, and credit cards required for every two iPads.

and the logging chat is still bugging what mean by that is each time i exit the facebook application and open it back it logs me in the chat even know i logged off before exiting the application... anyone else have this problem?

Yes and no. There is a "new" Dashboard for waggle controls...I mean Kinetic, allowing easy motion access to things like FB, movies, movies and the basics. However, it'll be controller driven for the main part still.

I was praying that the headline was "Apple to Introduce new dock connector."
The current dock connector SUCKS. It's way too hard to plug into, especially on the iPad 2, with it's tapered edge. It feels flimsy and I dread plugging anything into it for fear of breakage/bending of the pins.
I was really hoping that Apple would redesign it using MagSafe as their inspiration.
Agreed flimsy AND the cable connection always breaks at the plug parts where the cable meets the plastic.
I wish they had options to connect the cable on the sides as well as bottom.
also teh screened on "front" printing disappears after a while.
So, I scratch a box around the sign. That way I can "feel" the right side in the dark.
Apple should mold that into the plug..

Why would customers be preferring the Verizon iPad? The (factory unlocked) GSM iPad can be used in nearly every country, and domestically AT&T has faster 3G service if I recall correctly. Although Verizon has better voice and better coverage, I can't see people in metropolitan areas actually being better off with the CDMA iPad. Since the iPad data payment can't be tied to a pre-existing AT&T or Verizon cell phone plan, I just don't see much advantage to getting a Verizon iPad unless you live in an area without AT&T service. EF-S lenses are EF mount lenses that have a smaller element in the rear of the lens that works ONLY on 1.6 crop sensor EF-S Canon cameras. With this design, the glass elements can be smaller and lighter than their EF counterparts, but are only compatible with the 1.6 crop sensor cameras. Design wise, the rear element is placed closer to the sensor than EF lenses.
DO NOT use an EF-S lens on a 1.3 crop sensor (1D series cameras) or on a Full Frame 1.0 sensor (1Ds or 5D series cameras), as the rear element of the lens will interfere with the operation of the reflex mirror and may/ will cause damage to your camera.
